About The Event

Three Part SEL Series; Part 1: Co-regulation, Connection, & Cooperation

Raising Regulated, Resilient Children

A 3-Part Workshop for Parents & Teachers of Children 0–6

Children are not born independent.

They move from co-dependence to independence—and that process can’t be rushed.

This series walks through that progression:

1. Co-Regulation, Connection & Cooperation (May 27th)

Dependence → Supported regulation

In this session, we break down:

  • How regulation develops in early childhood (and why children rely on us first)

  • Why is connection the foundation for cooperation

  • How to support regulation in real time so children can begin to internalize it

2. Resilience & Frustration Tolerance (June)

Supported regulation → Internal coping

In this session, we focus on:

  • The difference between overwhelm vs. productive frustration

  • When to step in—and when to hold back

  • How children build the ability to cope, persist, and recover from challenge

3. Risk & Responsibility (July)

Internal coping → Independent decision-making

In this session, we explore:

  • Why children need real opportunities to take risks and make choices

  • How boundaries create safety without removing growth

  • How responsibility develops through experience, not control
